Kourtney Layton has appeared in numerous jury and bench trials, arbitrations and hearings. To date, she has given testimony in over 80 depositions for various types of cases and a variety of venues.
Ms. Layton primarily serves Utah, Idaho and Nevada clientele, however, our firm also offers vocational rehabilitation and Life Care Planning services in other parts of the country.
In addition to her forensic practice, Ms. Layton serves as an Adjunct Instructor in the Rehabilitation Counseling Graduate Program at Utah State University, where she teaches REH 6190: Assessment in Counseling. This graduate-level course prepares future rehabilitation counselors in the selection, administration, interpretation and ethical application of vocational, psychological, educational and career assessments used in rehabilitation counseling practice. Through her academic appointment, Ms. Layton integrates evidence-based assessment principles with practical application, drawing upon her extensive experience in vocational evaluation and forensic rehabilitation. Her faculty appointment reflects both her recognized expertise in rehabilitation counseling and her commitment to educating and mentoring the next generation of rehabilitation professionals.
Finally, Ms. Layton re-joined the Board of the American Board of Vocational Experts (ABVE) in 2024, where she serves in the elected role of Director-at-Large. In this capacity, she also holds the position of Ethics Chair and AI Subcommittee Chair, providing leadership in upholding and interpreting the organization’s Code of Ethics, guiding members in the application of ethical standards and contributing to the development of policies that support integrity and professionalism within the field of forensic vocational evaluation.
